Roberto Louvin

Roberto Louvin is a lawyer and Associate Professor of Comparative Public Law at the University of Trieste. He was engaged in political and administrative activities as President of the Aosta Valley Region (2002-2003), as alderman for education and culture (1993- 1998), and as President of the Aosta Valley Regional Council (1998-2002). At the international level, he was an alternate member of the Regional Committee of the European Union (1993-1998), and chaired the Commission on Education, Communication and Cultural Affairs (Commission de l’éducation, de la communication et des affaires culturelles) of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (2000-2003).
He has been honored with the awards of Chevalier des Palmes Académiques de la République Française and of Chevalier de l’Ordre de la Pléiade (i.e. Ordre de la Francophonie et du dialogue des cultures of the international Parliamentary French-speaking Assembly). His scientific interests pertain chiefly to national and cultural minorities, regional and federal systems, and the theory of the commons.
