Giovanni Bianchi
My name is Giovanni and I am from Vicenza, Italy. I recently graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento, Italy, with a thesis in philosophy of law. During my research I focused on legal postmodernism and the European Court of Human Rights as the cradle of pluralism, heterarchy and fuzziness. Such topics allowed me to put into question the foundational concepts of law, sovereignty and statehood. Besides, I am part of a political collective that established a safeline in Bulgaria, along the EU-Turkey border and at a crucial crossroads for people on the move. Such experience, along with my academic background, showed me the injustices and brutalities fostered by national and supranational actors. In IUC Master, I look forward to investigating the transnational and private centres of power.
